The Smokin' Guns
The California Hill Gun Club is the proud home of the youth sporting clays team, The Smokin’ Guns. The Smokin’ Guns was founded in 2008 by Phil Difilippo, who is the current head coach of the team. The purpose of the team is to promote gun safety, teach teamwork, responsibility, and sportsmanship, and most importantly to have fun. Team membership is open to all boys and girls from 5th grade to 12th grade from around Southwestern PA.
Shooters are squaded in groups of three by grade level; 5th grade, 6th - 8th beginner, 6th – 8th grade advanced, 9th – 12th grade beginner, and 9th - 12th grade advanced. The team competes with other teams around the area and throughout the state, as well as at a state shoot, and an optional national competition in Sparta, Illinois.
